About Me
I’m Katie, and I’m a fully qualified and insured ACPAT Chartered physiotherapist working with horses and riders to help them stay comfortable, healthy and enabling them to achieve their full potential together. I’m based in Darlington in beautiful County Durham and work with clients both equine and human (and some other animals too!) who live in a 50-mile radius from me. My clients range from sports horses and professional riders to beloved family pets, retired horses and happy hackers. I’m proud to have been the official team physio for the British International Endurance Squad, often traveling with them to treat both horses and riders before and after their training camps and races to ensure peak performance and optimised recovery.
I studied human physiotherapy at the University of Teesside, which meant plenty of classroom time and many hours of hands-on study to ensure I was fully trained. I then completed an ACPAT accredited course in veterinary physiotherapy at Liverpool University which enables me to work with horses, dogs, cats and other animals. My qualifications mean I am held to the highest professional standards and trained in both the classroom and with hands on experience before completing a long stint working in practice.
I also own The Physio Clinic, which is the place to go if you’re after non-rider-focused treatments, and I am also qualified to treat dogs and other animals besides horses.
