I can’t quite believe another year is very nearly over! It seems like yesterday we were worrying about Omicron and whether we would be able to see our families for Christmas 2021 after so much disruption! Of course, this festive season we’re sadly still being impacted by other forces outside our control – I’m thinking sudden freezing temperatures, snowfall, postage strikes and price rises – but I dearly hope that most of my customers can still get to see their friends and loved ones for Christmas. After all, haven’t the last couple of years taught us that see the people we love and care for and making memories are some of the most important things in life?

Speaking of Christmas and being able to see friends and family, I wanted to share my festive opening hours with you all so you know when you can get hold of me! I’ll be working until 12 noon on Friday the 23rd, and then will be back from 3rd January. I won’t be answering messages, emails and calls about routine appointments until I return in January, as I’m hoping to have a proper break to recharge my batteries after a really busy year. If you have an urgent problem or emergency, then I will respond to see how I can help. I’ve already been taking bookings for January and February, so please drop me a line ASAP if you’d like to confirm an appointment for early 2023! I know lots of my customers have given their horses a holiday or reduced their work this winter, so why not book a physio ‘MOT’ before they go back into full work?

The last blog of the year is the perfect opportunity to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who has supported me over the past 12 months. I’ve been lucky to be busy throughout the year and I’ve been working hard on the business, as well as in it. A new website and a lot of smart branded kit are both helping more people find and recognise me, and I’ve loved connecting with and getting to know my new sponsored riders too. I started off 2022 with just one – the lovely Georgie Tiplady – and I’m finishing it with an amazing six riders on my team! My ‘new joiners’ this year are:

  • Showjumper Alice McCullagh
  • Junior showjumper Amelia Davidson
  • Event rider Niamh Richardson
  • Event rider Katie Magee
  • Event rider Lucy Sugden

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed following all of their results and can’t wait to see how everyone does in 2023! A new year is the perfect time to set new goals and with 12 whole tantalising months stretching ahead of us, there’s plenty of time for training, competing and (hopefully) celebrating hitting your goals and getting the results you want. For now, have a very merry Christmas, enjoy extra time with your horse, partner, friends and family, and have a happy New Year too!
